Parents’ Association (AFA)
Educating our children and helping them grow into independent, confident and responsible individuals with sound judgement is a shared responsibility. As parents, we are their first role models, their main point of reference and, above all, those primarily responsible for their education.
In this process, we seek a partner who shares our commitment and accompanies us along the way. We find that partnership in the school. While we do not delegate our responsibility as parents, we do place our trust in the school to work alongside us in achieving common educational goals.
When families choose our school, they do so because they share our educational philosophy and identify with the values and educational project that define our community. From that moment on, the school becomes a fundamental partner in their children’s education, taking responsibility for delivering the educational project that families have chosen.
The relationship between families and the school is built on trust, respect and mutual commitment. For parents, this commitment means actively collaborating and participating in their children’s education, exercising both their rights and responsibilities so that the school can fully carry out its educational mission.
At Fundació Collserola, we encourage this partnership by fostering open communication and close collaboration with families. On an individual level, parents have direct access whenever needed through meetings with class tutors, coordinators, the Headteacher and, where appropriate, the Guidance and Counselling Department. At a collective level, families and staff come together through events such as beginning-of-year meetings, educational workshops, cultural activities and school celebrations.
Families also contribute to school life through the Parents’ Association (AFA), which represents all families and promotes effective communication and strong relationships between parents and the school. In addition, families are represented on the School Council, the school’s governing body, which includes representatives from the different groups that make up the educational community.
The overall framework governing this partnership and the mutual commitments between the school and families is set out in the Fundació Collserola Internal Regulations, approved by the School Council of each school.
